Indian badminton star PV Sindhu performed wonders on the last day of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. On July 5, 1995, PV Sindhu was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The full name of PV Sindhu is Pusarla Venkata Sindhu.
Sindhu’s parents were both national-level volleyball players. PV Sindhu’s father’s name is PV Ramana, who won a bronze medal in the 1986 Seoul Asian Games.

Education of PV Sindhu
PV Sindhu completed her initial education at Auxilium High School. For further studies, PV Sindhu did her MBA from St. Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam.
Why did PV Sindhu choose badminton?
PV Sindhu started playing badminton at the very young age of about 8 years. Both the parents were volleyball players but Sindhu’s attachment was towards badminton.
She was impressed by the success of Pullela Gopichand. Pullela Gopichand was the All England Open badminton champion.

PV Sindhu’s Badminton Training
Sindhu started her training in badminton at the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunication in Secunderabad under the supervision of Mehboob Ali.
Later joined Pullela Gopichand’s Badminton Academy. The coaching camp was 56 km away from Sindhu’s home, but she used to reach the training ground on time every day.
PV Sindhu Career
PV Sindhu won junior badminton titles like the All India Ranking Championship and Sub-Junior National. After that, she became an international-level player. In 2009, Sindhu won a bronze medal in the Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships.
A year later, he won a singles silver at the International Badminton Challenge in Iran. It was the result of Sindhu’s dedication and hard work that she once again won the 2012 Asian Junior Championships.
On the stage where Sindhu had won a bronze medal a year ago, now she has won her first gold.

Sindhu was working as Assistant Sports Manager in the Hyderabad office of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) since July 2013. After winning the medal in Rio Olympics, BPCL promoted him as Deputy Sports Manager.
Apart from this, Sindhu was also appointed as the first brand ambassador of Bridgestone India. Sindhu is the captain of Hyderabad Hunters in the domestic premier badminton league.

- Sindhu won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics. This time Sindhu won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
